About Rang-e-Pehchan

Rang-e-Pehchan is an attempt to preserve the stories of people who made Karachi their home.

Some arrived with dreams. Some arrived because they had no choice. Some came for work, some for family, some for education, and some simply followed the road.

Years later, their stories became part of Karachi.

Rang-e-Pehchan exists to collect those stories before they disappear — one arrival, one memory, one street at a time.

Every generation grows up a little further from where its family began. A grandmother's first day in Lyari, a father's first job in Korangi, an uncle's Peshawari chappal still by the door — these details fade fastest, even inside the same family. We built this archive so that gap doesn't have to widen: so a grandchild can read, in their own time, what their elders lived through, and see how Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashtun, Balochi, Muhajir, Seraiki, Sheedi, Bengali and Gujarati threads wove themselves into one city.
